There’s another little known yet potentially powerful way to generate traffic to your site or blog that won’t cost you a dime. In fact it could even earn you a free ebook if you get lucky!
What is this rather cheeky way of generating traffic?
Give a testimonial to a marketer who is just about to launch a new product.
How do you do that?
Well, it can be hit and miss, but you need to be a member of a top internet marketing forum - Warriors is about the best for this, but you can sometimes pick things up in WhyDoWork and WHAM. Whenever a marketer is about to launch a new product, they will often create a pre-launch buzz by posting in forums about it - notably Warriors.
Sometimes, they ask for volunteers to provide testimonials. Sometimes the incentive can be a free copy of the product to review first, sometimes, if it is a top marketer, it’ll just be a chance to get your name on their sales page with a link back to your site.
But that’s the thong you’re after. The link back to your site.
Not only do you get your name up there in lights, enhancing your own self-branding promotion as an expert in your field, but you get a one-way backlink to your site. If the marketer is one of the top people, then that site will get a huge number of hits, which could result in a lot of traffic to your site as a spin-off. There is also the possibility that the sales page will achieve a reasonable page rank resulting in a more weighted back-link for you.
So give it a try, you might get lucky, you might not but it’s worth the effort for the rewards could be immense!

MAKE MONEY
August 29th, 2007 — Blog
Here’s a break from the make money posts to put this poignant question to the blogging community who read my posts.
Why won’t spammers get it into their thick heads that they get nothing from using their spamming methods and posting comments full of links and garbage on blogs? This is all they’ll get for their trouble:
- no backlinks
- no publicity for their sites
- no traffic to their sites
- no credibility
- no business
- no nothing!
When will they learn? If they are promoting pornographic sites, no one reading a blog on how to make money is going to be the least bit interested in them. If they promote viagra or other chemical products that maybe people want, those people will search for their lousy products elsewhere and not go looking for them let alone buy them from links they won’t see on a make money blog!
Maybe this is a lesson to newbies to the online marketing business. If you want to get tons of the above bulleted points (except the last one!) you need to do things the right way from day one. As soon as you start posting useless comments in people’s blogs with a ton of links to your affiliate products or whatever, that blogger is going to mark your comment as spam and everything you post after that will get trapped in the spam filter!
Do it to enough blogs and you’ll find that this particularly lucrative side of internet marketing becomes a closed shop to you.
So get it right and only post in blogs that you have some knowledge of the topic, that relate to your own blog. Post useful comments remarking on the post that it refers to and building a rapport with the blogger you’re commenting on. Do that in enough blogs and your credibility and expertise will grow and you’ll build yourself a nice stream of steady traffic to your own blog or site.
There’s a right way and a wrong way to do most things. If you want to succeed in any business it really helps to do things the right way!

MAKE MONEY
August 28th, 2007 — Make Money
Back to the theme of how to make money with your blog. Writing reviews for reward can be a very lucrative side-line to your blog’s normal day-to-day maintenance. It’ll come as no surprise that the way to go with writing paid reviews to make money is to sign up with multiple Paid Review sites. So here’s another one that I find very useful, in fact they are my favourite site for paid reviews.
PayPerPost
PayPerPost are well established and do provide a good supply of advertisers wanting blogs to review their businesses or websites. They have the usual entry criteria for blogs before they will be accepted into their program. That is a minimum three months old with no long gaps between posts and a fair amount of traffic. As with other similar sites, they will accept blogs with a low page rank (my The Honest Way Blog is PR0 at the time of posting), but it just means that most of the opportunities will not be available to you to make money from until your page rank increases.
They do look at your Alexa rank and will offer you more opportunities to make money from if yours is good. Mine is 116,648 at the time of posting and has been continually improving over the last few weeks. They also have a referral program where they will pay you to refer new members to them as well as new advertisers. This is a spin-off way to make money from being a member and simply putting up a small banner on your blog.
You can expect to earn from $5 per review, but that figure grows the higher your PR gets, so that the top blogs can earn in the $100s per review. So there’s motivation to make money by getting your blog right up there with a good page rank.
So why are you still sitting here reading this? Get busy with your blog!
