October 28th, 2007 — Blog, Make Money
What a nice way to follow my last post in Make Money by announcing that this blog has been awarded a PR3 from Google - thanks guys n gals at Google! This now puts this place in the position where it has waited three months to be in - ready to make money!
First step is to submit to some paid review sites, as I mentioned in earlier posts. Once approved (and I see no reason why they won’t) then you’ll start seeing the odd paid review appearing on this page. Don’t worry, they will always be followed with a normal (unpaid) post of relevance to keep up the good content quality that you have come to expect from this site.
After all, it’s no good getting the PR and the paid work if you end up filling your blog with paid reviews and no decent content and then losing all your readers because there’s nothing decent to read!
So in the process to make money, don’t lose sight of the fact that you must keep up the quality of the posts and simply intersperse the odd paid review in between for that revenue - and keep your readers happy and also keep promoting to increase your readership all the time.
Because this is still only early days in the grand scheme of things to make money in ever larger amounts from your blog!

You can Make Money from having a higher page rank on your blog simply because this is the yardstick that advertisers use to gauge whether a blog is important enough to warrant their spending money on for advertising space.
It’s common knowledge amongst internet marketers and bloggers alike that obtaining back-links is one of the most important tasks when it comes to gaining a decent Page Rank for your blog or website, especially when you want to make money from it.
But any old back-link will not do! it’s the quality of the back-links that count.
The lowest quality are those back-links that are merely reciprocal or exchange links with sites of the same or lower PR than yours. These links count as very low on Google’s links radar and are rarely worth the bother of getting.
Of better quality are exchange links from higher PR sites than your own. That’s if you can get them. See below.
Better still are one-way links, where a site of similar or even lower PR than yours links to your site but you don’t have to link back. These count very highly in Google’s opinion as they denote your site as more popular if other sites choose to link you you.
The best PR juice of all comes from one-way links from sites of a higher PR than yours.
The problem with this is that high PR sites are generally not interested in bestowing one-way links on lower PR sites unless there’s something in it for them.
Often they will charge you a hefty sum for “buying” their link. This used to be a most lucrative way to make money for high PR sites but now thanks to changes in Google’s ever changing policies they are finding themselves being penalized for selling links in the form of a PR demotion. This means that this practice of selling links will become less widespread as more and more high PR sites get whacked.
Of course, the best way of obtaining free one-way links from high PR sites is by writing articles and submit them to high PR article directories and ezines.
If you want a definitive list of these, I have a Squidoo lens containing a list of over 200 article directories here: Article Directory List
Another way of getting free one-way links is to write comments in high PR blogs that have a “do Follow” policy. Use common sense here and don’t spam them or you’re comment will be deleted. Make your comment relevant to the post and try to comment on one of the latest posts. A common spammer tactic is to pick older posts to spam their rubbish on.
To help you, I have a list of Do Follow blogs that you can find at my sister blog: Make Money Blog
Here’s to your success!

October 20th, 2007 — SEO
Make Money are the main keywords for this blogsite, so it stands to reason that once the search engines start to shower their love on this site, it will rank specifically for “make money“.
So how do you turn that into a solid methodology in order to actually make money with the site?
Well, that’s already been covered in past articles here but a further way of giving these heavily competing keywords some real punch is by using them better. In fact I can’t believe that I’ve actually been very lax just lately in my use of the make money keywords in this very site. That’s just not acceptable so now I’m busy putting that right.
So how do you do that?
Well, it’s not difficult, just time consuming. It means I have to go back over several posts and make a few adjustments to the text in order to add some more “make money” keywords to each. That will increase the keyword density of “make money”, which checking over this site has made me realize they’ve become dreadfully low.
There are other factors that need attention too, like using the make money keywords as anchor text for hyperlinks linking back to this site - like this: Make Money
There are still differing opinions in the SEO community as to what the optimum keyword density should be in any article, ranging from 1% up to as high as 7%. I have generally tended to favour the lower figure as a precaution to not tripping the search engine’s red flag for keyword stuffing. But maybe I should be working towards a median figure of around 4-5%.
This might even be pushing close to the limit, but if you want to make money in this business, you have to take chances, right?
So in the next few days, you should start seeing some minor keyword tweaking going on in here and my guess is that in the next few weeks I should start seeing some improvements in my search engine ranking.
Let’s see…
