By that, I mean the JV (Joint Venture - if you didn’t already know) I have going with Monika Mundell of The Writers Manifesto.
Our JV site, Blogging Web 2.0 is going from strength to strength! Monika just published the sit stats for Spetember (our first month) and they look really good. If you want to take a look for your self, please by all means feel free to hop on over there to see for yourself.
This post is all about promotion and marketing, so I decided to use our JV site as a role model for it. That site came into existence in the middle of September and I have to give all the credit to Monika for setting it up and optimizing it for certain keywords as well as loading on a great bundle of widgets and add-ons to make this a really great site.
Starting from scratch then, we got together writing a whole ton of blog-sized articles and have been publishing at a quite staggering rate since launch. So now, barely three weeks on, we’ve populated this site will a huge amount of original content. That’s for two main reasons:
- To attract lots of interested readers to the site and to give them lots of information as well as an interesting and entertaining read while they’re there with the promise of lots more to keep them coming back and become loyal readers.
- To satisfy the search engines in their relentless push towards favouring good, content rich websites and blogs over poor, keyword stuffed and advertiser loaded sites of little or no real value to surfers.
That was the start of the push towards success.
More work then followed with us both promoting the site in our own blogs and raising awareness of it’s existence and many benefits via several top social networking sites as well as some of our old favourites in members forums and message boards and getting our visitors to blog about us too.
Off site promotion is a lot of work, but a necessary set of steps to take in order to successfully promote any site. So we’ve done and are continuing to do a lot in the background to keep raising the profile of the site and making sure people know about us.
Our latest push for more readers to visit and contribute to the site’s success is by running a mini-competition. It more a bit of fun, really with a cash prize for the winner. To find out how you can enter (for free, of course) I think it’s only fair if you CLICK HERE and go see for yourself!

Well, if you’re back here after going there, feel free to tell me what you thought about it - you can leave me a nice descriptive comment (not a spammy one or a pointless one-liner, please) and I’ll give you a free one-way back-link to your site.
How fair is that?
