Make money fast? How’s that then? Hey hey, its about time for another post here at the make money fast site. The last post Fast Make Money Ways, went over the SEO side of using keywords to push your site up the SERPs and showed it can be done with limited success, especially in the make money niche which is probably the worst performing of all niches when it comes to actually making money from it!
The post is actually inspired from a comment I was writing in Griz’s blog, “How to Make Money Online for Beginners,” where it was mentioned about buying expired domains with Page Rank to use as back-link providers for your other sites.
Well, if it sounds like a great make money fast idea on paper (or in this case on computer screen), in reality it is not. Let’s have a look at what this is all about and why it is unlikely to be of much use to you if you want to make money fast.
Make Money Fast
Starting off, there has been ample blog writing and commenting lately on the merits of buying used, or expired domains as opposed to registering brand new ones. The benefits to make money fast are huge, especially if you can find a well aged domain of a few years or more.
The older the better, as older domains tend to attract more authority in the eyes of the search engines, so a site that you put up on an aged domain will climb the SERPs more quickly and achieve a higher placement than a brand new domain. If that’s not enough reason to get your hands on one or more old domains, then being able to make money fast by creating a new site with monetization and avoiding the dreaded Google sandbox is more than worth the trouble to find them.
But there is a third, very good make money fast reason to buy up expired domains and that is some of them come with existing Page Rank. And some of them can be as high as PR6 or PR7! I should know, I’ve bought several PR6 domains and two PR7s as well.
So you’re immediate thoughts (as were mine) would be that a few well chosen PR6 sites could very quickly dominate a niche and you’d certainly make money fast that way. Not only that, but they could interlink and provide back-links for some of your newer sites and blogs and bring them up as well - because its no secret that if you can acquire one or two keyword anchored PR6 back-links your newer site will almost certainly get a PR5! Imagine how incredible that would be with a small army of PR5 and higher sites all targeting similar niches and you can see the potential to make money fast… and some!
Considering that most of these domains only cost me $5 plus a years registration fee, what a bargain!
Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
And what are you told about things that sound too good to be true?
They usually are!
Yep, all that build up comes with a payload of “big time let down!”. What could go wrong with that scenario? You may well ask!
Well, for starters, when you buy an expired domain, the domain has literally expired because the previous owner didn’t bother to re-register the domain for another year. Now, if you had a killer PR6 website, would you be so careless as to omit to pay for another year’s domain registration?
Nope, I didn’t think so. So why did the previous owner not keep up his or her payments?
Well, there could be a number of reasons, not least of all that the owner has died! Or gotten so ill that they couldn’t keep up their work. Or they went broke and couldn’t afford to renew (that would happen even if you had a PR6 site and weren’t using it properly to make money, fast!).
Or much more likely is they mis-used and milked the site until dry to make money fast, made their money and simply let it go, knowing full well that on the next PR review their site would be slapped anyway. Or the niche they were working with the site was not producing any dollars and they didn’t know enough about the business to fix it.
Or lastly, it could simply be that the site owner had bought loads of dodgy links in order to attain the high PR and make money fast, then pull out knowing that all those links were about to become worthless, as in the case of using PayPerPost or other blog post review company where the blogs that they paid to put up the links (under the guise of a paid review) had themselves been slapped by Google for doing the paid reviews.
The upshot of all this is that even though the expired domain you’re buying shows a high PR on your toolbar, Google has already flagged that domain to have its PR removed at the next review. So all those high PR domains I bought are now PR0 domains (except one or two, which I’ll explain about next) and useless as high powered link providers.
But all is not quite lost…
You see a couple of those domains have survived two PR reviews with their PR intact. Upon checking, I can still see all the back-links that had provided them with their PR. That means that the domains were not mis-used, or abused by spammers or “make money fast and dump them” merchants, but were probably owned by people who I spoke about first - they either died, or got sick or went broke or for some other reason simply were not in a position to renew their domains. And as long as I retained the same site names as the previous owners, I’ve kept the PR. I also did some checking to make sure the backlinks all pointed to the homepage and any that pointed to deeper pages, I simply created pages with the same names, put up a paragraph or two of vaguely relevant content and the deep-linking has stayed intact.
So I know that buying expired domains at auction can be a bit of a lottery (and are not most auctions a risk?) at theend of the day, I’ve still got some useful domain names with age - still important for moving up the SERPs quickly and avoiding the sandbox. In fact one of those now PR0 domains achieved page one in Google’s SERPs for fairly competitive keywords within a couple of weeks of me getting it back up with a blog and 10 posts.
So it can be done!
You can make money fast with SEO, expired domains and a little of the old fairy dust for luck!

Make Money
January 28th, 2008 — Make Money, SEO
Work from home, make money is what we all dream about doing, well, those of us who are hell-bent on carving out a path for ourselves in the work from home make money arena. In my last post here Fast Make Money, I talked about the techniques you can use to boost your blog or website in Google’s SERPs and how important it is to generate organic traffic to your site in order to fast make money (which was the keyword I was targeting).
I can say with all honesty that it worked very well, catapulting this work from home make money site right onto Google’s page one for the keywords fast make money. This on site SEO works very well and I have also incorporated this technique to bolster the fortunes of the JV blog I run with Monika at Blogging Web 2.0 which I’m going to give the anchored link as: On Site SEO
That should help it onto page one for that search term.
As for this work from home make money blog, I’m now (surprise, surprise) targeting the keywords work from home make money!
…Um, didn’t you just make a mistake there? You bolded the keywords from home make money but missed off the word “work”.
That was intentional.
You see, keyword research is important in ascertaining which keywords you are likely to get a lot of search traffic for and which ones have a lot of competition to fight against. In this case, I’m targeting a fairly high competition keyword in from home make money as well as home make money (not to mention the main keyword that I will eventually rank for, make money).
There is a problem with this kind of on site SEO in that it won’t produce steady results at first. I’ve watched this site hit number 3 yesterday for fast make money, then drop to position 5 in Google this morning and drop to 22 this afternoon. Now its back on page one in position 6. Here’s a screen shot as proof!

Click on the picture to have it open in a new window (or tab) for a larger size.
Tomorrow it’ll doubtless sway around some more as I keep adding more fast make money keyword strong content and the Google bots crawl the site. The same will doubtless happen once I rank for from home make money and the home make money keywords.
But all this is a cat and mouse game with other sites all vying for the top spots with from home make money and they will all be constantly updating their own content to outdo me. I’ll of course help my own sites by linking to them in posts like this where they are also trying to rank for certain keywords, like from home make money. In fact my new Make Money Hints site is also trying to rank for Home Make Money, so by giving it a keyword text anchored link, I’ve just increased it’s keyword authority for from home make money and it will climb higher in the serps for it.
The trick when linking to other sites is not to give too many links away in one post as you’ll end up diluting the link juice they carry and lessen their effect on the blogs you are promoting.
All this on site SEO adds up to another from home make money keyword heavy post, but I do it in the context of educating those who don’t know about this, so they can work from home, make money and do it better than they could before they knew any of this on site SEO jiggery pokery!
Until next time.

Make Money
January 9th, 2008 — SEO
Make Money has just had a major face-lift as you might have just noticed! So what’s with the clever title, Make Money with Change? Well, its all about how to make money using even smarter SEO, (Search Engine Optimization) than I was before and doing something with this blog that has needed doing for awhile now.
First up is the new theme.
This is Court’s Copyblogger theme if anyone is interested (there are links in the footer for his sites) and it’s highly SEO ready. The visual appearance is not so frilly as before, but I think that’s a good thing for a blog about how to make money online. In fact doing away with the double sidebars in favour of the single sidebar makes it less tempting to fill the space up with rubbish! Let’s face it, the majority of visitors I get here are other Internet Marketers looking for ways to make money online and its a known fact that Internet Marketers do not click on other Internet Marketers’ ads!
So being a Make Money site first and foremost, there isn’t a lot of point in filling the place up with hundreds of flashy banners as they just get ignored. So I’m going with a more minimal look and I’m working more on the SEO angle to boost this site’s standing in the SERPs.
Because it’s another well known fact that organic traffic from Google specifically and the other search engines generally will produce a much better percentage of click-throughs for my ads. So more organic traffic equals more of the make money stuff!
There are a few more tricks up my sleeve that I’ll mention right now, because chances are not too many serious marketers will read this far down so the secrets are pretty safe from all but those who (by reading this far down) deserve to have them!
SEO trick No 1:
Do make good use of your main keywords for your log’s niche, in my case it’s make money, or make money online (either will do, but there is about twice as much organic searches for make money as there are for make money online - go figure which one I’m targeting!)
SEO Trick No 2:
Don’t get mad when spammers flood your comments with their crap, get even! This is the latest super sneaky trick that’ll have you laughing all the way to the bank… Instead of deleting those spam comments, use them to your advantage. The search engines do count comments as part of the content of a site - ok you probably already knew that and the more comments your site gets, the higher it will be placed in the SERPs because it will be seen as more popular. Well, you need to edit each one of those crap spam comments and delete all their crap and write in your own keyword rich comments…
Ah, I see a brightly glowing lightbulb has appeared!!!
Yes, comments from spammers are still comments from visitors to your blog! With your own hosted Wordpress blogs, you can edit your comments! I hope that not too many of you will bother with this, because it just means more competition for me. But because I’m such a lover of full disclosure when it comes to information, I give it to you freely.
That’s because I know that very few of you will be bothered to go to all that trouble in the first place - let’s face it how many of you are seriously SEO’ing your blog posts, let alone faffing around with editing long and fiddly comments from spammers?
Ha! I’m on it right now just to see what results it brings for me and if I can make money from those results. Here’s to how to make money online the clever way!
