A quite amusing, albeit slightly serious goings on is cropping up all over the social networking sites. I find it amusing because it’s so cheeky, yet for all that it obviously must be working.
I’m talking about spammer types with more than one brain cell getting in there and using the social networks to make some money. Now, when I say spammers with intelligence, I’m more truly referring to seasoned black hatters who have found a clever way of gaming the system and thumbing their noses at the biggest search engine with all their PR slapping of errant site owners.
What they’re doing is creating several new identities and using pictures of pretty young women to dupe other male members into thinking that they are what they most certainly are not! By using this tactic, they give the impression they are helpless young females who need a knight in shining armour to rescue them – or in this case to help them by signing up to this or that newsletter or email opt-in just to prove that it is not a scam.
In actual fact, they’re making money by generating leads for these companies and making some nice commissions from CPA affiliate links that the unwitting knights in shining armour have signed up with!
You got to hand it to them, its just using human nature to their benefit!
Now maybe I should change my name to Paris and… oh, maybe not!
