You can Make Money from having a higher page rank on your blog simply because this is the yardstick that advertisers use to gauge whether a blog is important enough to warrant their spending money on for advertising space.
It’s common knowledge amongst internet marketers and bloggers alike that obtaining back-links is one of the most important tasks when it comes to gaining a decent Page Rank for your blog or website, especially when you want to make money from it.
But any old back-link will not do! it’s the quality of the back-links that count.
The lowest quality are those back-links that are merely reciprocal or exchange links with sites of the same or lower PR than yours. These links count as very low on Google’s links radar and are rarely worth the bother of getting.
Of better quality are exchange links from higher PR sites than your own. That’s if you can get them. See below.
Better still are one-way links, where a site of similar or even lower PR than yours links to your site but you don’t have to link back. These count very highly in Google’s opinion as they denote your site as more popular if other sites choose to link you you.
The best PR juice of all comes from one-way links from sites of a higher PR than yours.
The problem with this is that high PR sites are generally not interested in bestowing one-way links on lower PR sites unless there’s something in it for them.
Often they will charge you a hefty sum for “buying” their link. This used to be a most lucrative way to make money for high PR sites but now thanks to changes in Google’s ever changing policies they are finding themselves being penalized for selling links in the form of a PR demotion. This means that this practice of selling links will become less widespread as more and more high PR sites get whacked.
Of course, the best way of obtaining free one-way links from high PR sites is by writing articles and submit them to high PR article directories and ezines.
If you want a definitive list of these, I have a Squidoo lens containing a list of over 200 article directories here: Article Directory List
Another way of getting free one-way links is to write comments in high PR blogs that have a “do Follow” policy. Use common sense here and don’t spam them or you’re comment will be deleted. Make your comment relevant to the post and try to comment on one of the latest posts. A common spammer tactic is to pick older posts to spam their rubbish on.
To help you, I have a list of Do Follow blogs that you can find at my sister blog: Make Money Blog
Here’s to your success!
